The Board
The LUMA Centre Finland network has a board that
- takes care of the network’s operating preconditions,
- approves the network’s common strategy,
- approves the annual plan and budget of the network,
- steers and supports the work of the director as well as
- approves the annual report of the network.
Each partner university has appointed its representative and vice representative to the board. The chair of the board is Jan Lundell from the University of Jyväskylä and the vice-chair is Mervi Asikainen from the University of Eastern Finland.

Furthermore, the board has decided that other specialists may be called upon to attend board meetings for specific matters. If a nominated or vice representative of the university is prevented from attending, another expert may represent the university.
Director
The director handles the operational management of the network under the annual plan and prepares the decisions for the board.
The university, where the director of the network is appointed, is responsible for the management and coordination of the network.
The Rector of the University of Helsinki appoints the director for a three-year term, after consulting the partner universities. The director of the network is Professor, Dr. Maija Aksela from the University of Helsinki until the end of year 2024.
